Christopher John Cornell is an American singer, songwriter and musician best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. He also had a solo career and contributed to film soundtracks. Cornell is also the founder and moderator of Temple of the Dog, a unique tribute group dedicated to his late friend Andrew Wood. Cornell is considered one of the key figures of the grunge movement of the 1990s and is known for his rich portfolio of musicians, nearly four octaves of vocals, and powerful vocal lacing techniques. He has released four solo studio albums, Euphoria Morning, Carry On, Scream and Higher Truth; Songbook live album; and two volumes, The Paths We Choose and Chris Cornell, the latter released after that.
