BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise Police warn residents of a scam where scammers are "spoofing" a Boise Police number and calling residents pretending to be detectives with the Boise Police Department, accusing the person who answers the phone of committing a crime.
The goal is to get you to send them money.
Police say this is not them, and they would never call you and demand money for any circumstance. If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately.
